To commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, National Sports Day is celebrated across the country on 29 August (Thursday). Sport develops a sense of friendliness among the children and develop their team spirit. It helps children to develop mental and physical toughness. The National Sports Day in India (also called Rashtriya Khel Divas) is celebrated with great zeal by both students and teachers of AFS, VSN.
Principal ma’am Mrs. Jayalakshmi Sekhar lighting the lamp at the programme to mark the National Sports Day Celebration, along with sports sir Mr. Enoch Morde and school manager Shankar Chandra Nar. The programme started with formal address by school captain Dipjyoti Mohanta and Ritika, followed by information on eminent sports personalities by other students. Principal Ma’am concluded the programme by discussing the importance and value of sports in our life.
