73rd Independence Day Celebration

15th August’2019 (Thursday)

India rings into the 73rd Independence Day celebration on 15th August 2019. It is the day of the year when Indians beam with pride in their eyes. With happiness in their hearts and acknowledgment of the lives sacrificed during the course of the freedom movement, citizens of India celebrate the day. This day celebrates a public national holiday for all. With great fervor and enthusiasm, teachers and staff, all decked with hues of Tiranga, welcomed chief guest Group Captain Sunil Mahto (Chairman, AFS, VSN), Mrs.Nidhi Mahto(President, AFWWA Local) and all the SMC members received by Executive Director Flt Lt. Sangamitra and principal Ma’am Mrs. Jayalaksmi Shekar.

The Chief Guest then unfurled the Tricolour followed by national anthem.

Students welcomed with a melodious patriotic group song followed by a lovely programme presented by the small kids of Umeed. The spirit of freedom and nationalism was well exhibited by the students through a spectrum of patriotic speech, skit on freedom fighters, songs and dance performances. Pre primary and primary students presented a thought provoking skit on the importance of the unsung heroes of our para military forces. Senior students presented an enchanting dance performance with the flavour of patriotism as the last act of the day. The celebrations concluded with distribution of sweets and goodies to every students.
